I have been searching our football clubs for an English full back .not a wing back but Predominantly a defensive full back
German football has plenty.

I'd like to see noble play as a sweeper, get the tackles in and have no choice to pass bludy forward instead of backwards and sidewards!!

We are not working with players who are wide defensive players who can attack on the flanks.
We are playing with midfielder as wing backs and wingers in deep positions as wingbacks.
Germany for instance have plenty as I have been pointing out since xmas

Well in truth Hugh, those type of players don't exist anymore. The modern day full backs all have to be able play as wing backs, just as a modern day goalkeeper has to be good on the deck.
Any kid with aspirations to play at the very top of professional football either as a goalkeeper or full back needs to acquire those attributes in order to succeed.

Rather than worry about the lack of English ones, why not identify a good one from Germany that we could get at the right price?

The other lads I am told are in the youth teams. Kenny at Everton and Macca with Liverpool.
Although at youth team level there isn't much known.they are somewhat unusual as they play the defensive role quite naturally .
These days clubs even west ham like wingbacks and do not teach the defensive responsibilities as a primarily key role.

Left back is more of a challenge, with Matt TARGETT being the best I've seen, along with Jay DASILVA, but seeing as he's already at Chelsea, is perhaps not a realistic target.
